Nixie driver circuitry in-built

Is there a way we can include the driving circuitry inside the nixie tube itself?

The tube itself might even be able to do the voltage shifting if its cheap enough?

The base of the tube could include circuitry to make driving the tubes with modern digital signals simpler by providing an I2C or SPI connection?

Potentially 2 different versions of the tubes then, a “pure” tube and a “modern” tube, although maybe the “modern” tube can just be a base that you attach to a pure tube to reduce manufacturing costs, we produce the 1 tube, and then for any modern tubes the tube just plugs into the driver base?

The driver base could actually be sold separately for old tubes as well, given we manufacture with the same form factor as the original stock which I think we will.
